FROM THE CLASSROOM 2020-2021
Daily Skills:
English: Students will be engaged in shared reading with various seasonal/unit books during our Read Aloud. Students will discuss story elements such as author, illustrator, characters, setting, etc. Students will practice handwriting, language and writing skills daily, plus share their writings. Students will be working on word study skills. Students will be working with reading skills using Success For All (SFA) and during a Language Arts block.
Math: This year students will be using a blend of learning strategies such as visuals, manipulatives, paper-pencil, online programs, discussions, etc.
UNIT study will include Social Studies and Science
Daily Homework: We will not be starting right away...but this is what you can expect: Homework routine this year will be as followed: We will be having homework Monday-Thursday: Daily, the students will be reading a book, practicing sight words, and practicing spelling words. The reading book, sight words and spelling words will be inside their homework folder. Please check it each night, fill out the forms and return the homework folder the next day.
Math, Science and Social Studies homework will come home as needed.
Supplies: At this time, every student should have their school supplies. I will let you know if your child needs any up-dated supplies.
